HomeMy WebLinkAbout2008 12 08 Informational 107 Police Department Santa Claus RunCOMMISSION AGENDA ITEM 107 December 8. 2008 Regular Meeting CONSENT INFORMATIONAL X PUBLIC HEARING REGULAR MGR 0 " /DEP~:~ Authorization REQUEST: Police Department providing information to the Commission concerning the annual neighborhood Santa Clause appearance throughout the City of Winter Springs. PURPOSE: The purpose of this agenda item is to inform the Commission that the Police Department is planning to continue this traditional event to the citizens of Winter Springs. CONSIDERATIONS: Traditionally the Winter Springs Fire Department during the Christmas holidays would escort Santa throughout the various neighborhoods for the joy and excitement of the city residents. The Police Department has committed itself to continue this cherished tradition to our residents. Santa will be escorted throughout the city and allow the residents to share in the Christmas spirits as they have for many years. A schedule of the routes and times will be placed on the City Website and at city facilities to inform the residents of the event. FUNDING: None RECOMMENDATION: None at this time. COMMISSION ACTION:
