REQUEST: Utility Department Requesting Approval to piggyback off the Florida Sheriffs
Association Bid Award 07-15-0827 for the purchase one (1) 45KW Generator.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this Board item is to request approval to piggyback off the Florida Sheriffs
Association Bid Award 07-15-0827 Specification #063 for the purchase of one (1) 45KW
Generator from Tradewinds Power Corp. This bid has been rolled over for 2008/2009.
CONSIDERATIONS:
This item is needed to continue the plan to provide permanent emergency power at key
wastewater lift stations throughout the City. The Utility Budgeted for one (1) stationary generator to
be purchased this year. The generator will be installed at LS #1 West on Cory Lane which is a high
priority large capacity lift station. Upon loss of power the generator will automatic start up and switch
to emergency power.
FUNDING:
Funds are budgeted and available under Utility line code #3600-64000.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that approval be granted to piggyback off Florida Sheriff's Association bid #07-
15-0827 Specification #063 for the purchase of one (1) 45KW generator from Tradewinds Power Corp.
for a total cost of $ 33,480.00 payable from 3600-64000.
IMPLEMENTATION SCHEDULE:
The generator will be operational 8 to 10 weeks from approval.
