We wish to honor those that have dedicated themselves to service above self, in your organization. Too often these people are never recognized for all the hours of work and dedication they give to their community. Winter Springs Rotary would like to have the citizens of Seminole County recognize them by participating in the "Royal Court of Leaders." The Royal Court of Leaders will participate in our Mardi Gras Event, Marchl3, 2009 at the Winter Springs Town Center. Our Royal Court of Leaders Gala Ball will take place March 14, 2009. The Winter Springs Rotary request that your organization vote for one member and submit their outstanding accomplishments and biographical information to the board by Decemberl5, 2008. Candidates will be chosen by the board with numbered applications, to prevent name recognition bias. Sixteen (eight men and eight women) outstanding candidates will be selected by Januaryl5, 2009. These selected leaders will become Dukes and Maids of the Court. On the eve of March 13, 2009 at the Winter Springs Town Center, at the staging area, the "Royal Court of Leaders" will gather. All members of the court will be introduced and accomplishments will be announced to the citizens present. We expect 4000 to 7000 people to this event. All the Maids names will then be dropped into the Queens Crown and a name will be drawn. This name will the proclaimed "Queen of the Royal Court of Leaders." All the Dukes will drop their names into the Kings Crown, a name will be drawn. This name will be proclaimed the "King of the Royal Court of Leaders." The new Queen and King along with the Royal Court will then proceed to the Royal Float, and the Winter Springs Mardi Gras Parade will begin. On the eve of March l4, 2009 the King and Queen and the Royal Court will be presented to invited guests at the Royal Ball. The promenade will introduce each Royal Court member and announce their accomplishments to the community. Following the King and Queens presentations to guests there will be entertainment, dancing, ending the evening with a midnight meal starting at 11:30 PM. Enclosed is a numbered application. The top portion will be separated before the Winter Springs Rotary board reviews the bottom portion. When a selection is made, both sections will be matched according to their respective numbers. All applications must be submitted by December 15, 2008. Selections will be made by January 15, 2009. Candidates will be notified by mail January 20, 2009.
