CONSIDERATIONS: This agreement is needed to continue aquatic weed control and maintenance services of certain ponds throughout the City. Bid # ITBO15/08/ZP was opened on August 28, 2008 and the nine (9) bids received were as follows: 1. Lake Masters Aquatic Weed Control, Inc. $46,080.00 2. Lake Doctors, Inc. $47,880.00 3. Bio-Tech Consulting, Inc. $48,496.00 4. Environmental Management Group, Inc $48,640.00 5. Florida's Finest Lawn & Pest Control, Inc. $58,200.00 6. Aquatic Biologists, Inc. $59,496.00 7. Southern Aquatic Management, Inc. $61,800.00 8. DeAngelo Brothers, Inc/DBA Aquagenix $69,504.00 9. Aquatic Weed Technology $78,720.00 Staff has reviewed the bids and recommends that the bid be awarded to the lowest bidder, Lake Masters Aquatic Weed Control, Inc. The Lake Masters Aquatic Weed Control, Inc. bid September 22, 2008 Consent 201 Page 2 of 2 of $46,080.00 is within our budget and their references are satisfactory. The contract is for the monthly maintenance of 78 stormwater lakes & ponds and two ditch areas throughout the City. The contract period is for twelve months with an option for a second and third twelve- month period with annual 2% increase contingent upon an acceptable job performance. FUNDING: The funding source for the $46,080.00 annualized cost to maintain stormwater ponds is in Line Code 3800-54693 of the Stormwater Utility Budget. The funds for this project will be expended over the twelve-month contract period. RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that authorization be given to enter into a contract agreement with Lake Masters Aquatic Weed Control, Inc. for Bid # ITBO15/08/ZP, Aquatic Weed Control and Maintenance of Certain Ponds at a cost of $46,080.00 payable from the Stormwater Utility Fund. IMPLEMENTATION SCHEDULE: The new pond maintenance contract will commence on October 1, 2008 for a twelve-month period with an option for a second and third twelve-month period if the work performance is satisfactory.
