McLemore, City Manager Subject: Regular Agenda Item B, August 28,2000 Commission Meeting In my absence, I would like the following statement read into the record tonight when the" issue is introduced under Regular Agenda Item B. I am in total support of Resolution #2000-27 that establishes a professional Charter Review Advisory Committee with the proviso that the project be completed in time for the Local Option Sales Tax. referendum scheduled for May 2001. [further support the approval of Mr. Jim Burgess as the Lead Consultant for the project. I also support the supplemental appropriation of $25,000 from General Fund Revenues for implementing this Charter Review. I support taking the professional approach as outlined in Resolution #2000-27 rather than a Charter Review by a Committee of citizens that often become self serving. The professional review is to ensure that the Winter Springs Charter is modernized as needed and is consistent with the "Model City Charter". ~ ~;l1/
