~l'his letter comes as a follow up to your discussion with Sheralyn Brinson, of our office, regarding your term on
the SCLA Board. Your term on the SCEA Board expires in May 2008, thus creating a vacancy. You have
expressed an interest in being re-appointed to the Board. You are eligible to serve on the Board for whatever
period you continue as a sitting elected municipal ot~icial. For reference, the municipal representatives term is
two years.
It is our understanding CA[_NO will discuss this matter at their March 5, 2008, meeting. Because of the
requirements of Chapter 348, Florida Statutes, CALNO's recommendation needs to be aftinned by a majority of
the municipalities and approved by the Seminole County Board of County Commissioners (BCC). In order to
meet agenda submittal requirements for the BCC, we respecttiilly request receipt of each City's letta• ratifying
CALNO's recommendation by April 21, 2008. By copy ufthis letter, we are advising each City Manager of this
schedule.
We look li~rward to receiving the municipal endorsements of CALNO's recommendation and plan [o forward
same to the County Commission for action at the May 8, 2008, BCC meeting.
Sincerely,
W. Gary J "i~, P.E.
