REQUEST: The City Manager is requesting that the City Commission approve the FY
2009 Budget Calendar.
PURPOSE:
This agenda item is needed in order to establish dates for the FY 2009 budget process.
CONSIDERATIONS:
Regarding the Budget Calendar, the most relevant and critical events have been bolded on the
Proposed Budget Calendar (attached). The earliest feasible date for the presentation of the
Preliminary Budget and Budget Message is June 9`", which is indicated on the budget calendar.
At that meeting the Commission would determine workshop dates to be convened in June and/or
July. July 21st is the last re u~ larly scheduled Commission meeting in which to establish the
millage cap. August workshops can also be convened if further budget refinement is warranted.
FUNDING: N/A
RECOMMENDATION: City Manager recommends that the City Commission approve the FY
2009 Budget Calendar.
