HomeMy WebLinkAbout2008 02 25 Regular 602 Geneva ConstructionCOMMISSION AGENDA ITEM 602 Consent Information Public Hearin Re ular X February 25, 2008 Meeting Mgr. `'~ /Dept: REQUEST: The Community Development Department requests the City Commission review and consider the refund of permit and impact fees to Geneva Construction in the amount $4,640.00 as discussed at the City Commission meeting on November 13, 2007. PURPOSE: The purpose of this agenda item is to recommend approval to refund of permit and impact fees to Geneva Construction for the Grove Counseling Center's modular classroom. CONSIDERATIONS: The permit for the modular classroom has been cancelled by the permit applicant, Geneva Construction, as the project has been cancelled at this time. The refund amount is $4,687.35 for permit impact fees and represents both permit and impact fees as detailed in attachment C. RECOMMENDATION: It is staffls recommendation that the Commission consider the refund of $4,687.35 to Geneva Construction. Plans review fees are not a part of this refund request as the plans were reviewed by staff. ATTACHMENTS: A. Commission Minutes from November 13, 2007 B. Deputy Mayor McGinnis commented on the Gi*z~ir #~~?€g Ctr/r'~ modular units and a recent loss in funding. MOTION BY DEPUTY MAYOR McGINNIS. SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER KREBS. DISCUSSION. MANAGER McLEMORE NOTED, "WE WILL LOOK AND SEE IF ANY - MAYBE COULD BE REIMBURSED." VOTE: COMMISSIONER KREBS: AYE COMMISSIONER GILMORE: AYE DEPUTY MAYOR McGINNIS: AYE COMMISSIONER BROWN: AYE COMMISSIONER MILLER: AYE MOTION CARRIED. Lastly, Deputy Mayor McGinnis asked about the Jesup's Reserve bankruptcy. Brief discussion. REPORTS 408. Commission Seat Five -Joanne M. Krebs Commissioner Krebs commented about representing the City at the "Annual Invitation to Serve" event. Next, Commissioner Krebs inquired about the status of the Oak Forest wall. Commissioner Krebs commented on a seminar in Washington D.C. in December related to crises responses and suggested that perhaps a Police Department employee be sent. Manager McLemore stated, "We will cover with Staff tomorrow at Staff Meeting." Commissioner Krebs said, "Good. I appreciate that."
