HomeMy WebLinkAbout1989 12 11 Regular . . . I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE SEVERAL COMMENTS ON THE PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT OF PARCEL 51 IN THE TUSCAWILLA P.U.D. AFTER REVIEWING THE MATERIAL PUT TOGETHER BY DON LEBLANC TO THE CITY MANAGER ON DEC. 6 AND THEN REVIEWING THE PLANS GIVEN TO US AT THE CITY COMMISSION MEETING OF NOV. 13, I HAVE COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT THE DEVELOPMENT OF THIS PARCEL INTO NOTHING MORE THAN AN APARTMENT COMPLEX ~ IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE CURRENT DEVELOPMENT SURROUNDING PARCEL 51. r //----'-'-' I, THEREFORE, yrLL BE VOTING A ST~ONG NO WHEN '!JilL ISSUE WTLL COME UP . ! / BEFO E THE COMMI sf ON AGAIN. FURTHERMORE, I REQUEST THAT FOR THE NEXT COMMISSION MEETING THE ISSUE OF REZONING THE TUSCAWILLA P.U.D. TO R1AAA BE PUT ON THE AGENDA. MY REASON FOR BRINGING THIS ISSUE UP ARE: 1. AT A RECENT TUSCAWILLA HOMEOWNERS MEETING, THE PEOPLE REAFFIRMED THAT IT WAS THEIR DESIRE TO REZONE ALL CURRENT UNDEVELOPED LAND AS RESIDENTIAL R1AAA. 2. THE ISSUE NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED CLEARLY AND SPECIFICALLY TO PREVENT FUTURE PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT MISUNDERSTANDINGS. wfJ 3. TO CONCLUDE THIS ZONING ISSUE'\.. CAN SPEND TIME ON OTHER CITY MATTERS. AT THE NEXT MEETING, I WILL BE ASKING THE SUPPORT OF MY FELLOW COMMISSIONERS TO REZONE THE TUSCAWILLA P.U.D. During the past 11-1/2 months, Donald W. McIntosh Associates has been preparing the final (development) engineering plans and has been working with FDOT, FDER, and the Corps of Engineers to develop the final plans which are approvable by all agencies, including the City. Considerable time and effort has been given the permit application process with the Florida Department of Environmental Regulation for the Trotwood Boulevard connection. We are hereby formally requesting, on behalf of the property owner, a 120 day extension of the preliminary subdivision approval in order to facilitate the submittal of the project's final engineering package and to complete the necessary negotiations with the referenced agencies. City Council's favorable consideration of this request would be very much appreciated. Thank you for your assistance in processing this request. Sincerely, DONALD W.
