HomeMy WebLinkAbout1985 07 15 City Commission Workshop Minutes . . . ~ WORKSHOP MEETING CITY COMMISSION JULY 15, 1985 The Workshop Meeting was called to order by Mayor John V. Torcaso at 7:00 p. m. Roll Call: Mayor JOhn V. Torcaso, present Deputy Mayor William A. Jacobs, present City Manager Richard Rozansky, present Commissioners: Jim Hartman, present Arthur Hoffmann, present Buck Adkins, present Leanne Grove, present Also Present: Jacqueline Koch, Director of Admin. & Personnel Police Chief John Govoruhk Fire Chief Charles Holzman Finance Director Harry Martin Building Official Sam Smith City Planner Peter Cowell The Workshop Meeting was called to discuss the 1985-86 Fiscal Year Budget. The following revenues were increased to: State Revenue Sharing - $401,346.00 Sales Tax - $519,671.00 Occupational licenses - $35,000.00 Building Permits - $90,000.00 Mechanical Permits - $18,000.00 Fines and Forfeitures - $35,000.00 Gas Refund - $2,500.00 At the time the garbage contract is put to bid, it was suggested a franchise fee be included. For all allocated personnel, Manager Rozansky said a 10% + 2% increase for salaries was included in the Budget. The majority of the Commission agreed to this increase. The Commission also agreed to the increase in E.M.T. and Paramedic incentive pay as requested by the City Manager. Also the change in the Dispatch pay scale was approved. The Commission also agreed to a 15% salary increase for the Director of Personnel, City Planner, Building Official, Finance and City Clerkq,and Harry Martin and Doug Taylor. A 17% salary increase was approved for the Fire Chief and Police Chief. A 20% salary increase was approved for the City Manager. Also approved was the City Manager's list for additional personnel dated 7-15-85. Manager Rozansky said we need to look at hiring a qualified engineer and he also asked for a receptionist for the new City Hall complex. Ad Valorem was discussed, and a millage rate of 2 mills was proposed. Meeting was adjourned at 9:40 p. m. Respectfully submitted, Mary T. Norton, City Clerk
