Federal funding was approved at a 75 percent construction cost share rate (75% NRCS / 25% City). • Construction contracts were approved by the City Commission on March 23, 2009 and all construction work was complete by July 24, 2009. • The construction work generally consisted of debris clearing, sediment removal, and creek bank stabilization at five major creek crossings. The work was complicated by severe storms that hit Winter Springs during late May which caused the water levels in the creeks to rise well above normal levels for the time of year. • The following before and after photos illustrate the work performed at each site.
