Subject of the workshop was discussion on the lake on Unit Four of Tuscawi11a. Roll Call: Mayor Troy Piland, Present Deputy Mayor Larry Pellerin, Present Councilman Tom Craven, Present Councilman Burt Logan, Present Councilman John W. Daniels, Present Councilman John Sabatini, Absent Discussion on the safety of the weir, it was stated that this would be discussed during the course of the meeting. The City Engineers, Ca1 Conklin and Bill Holmes gave a presentation on the tests and measurements that were taken of the lake and roads. They said that the lake should be raised to level 48, modifications made to the weir to improve its effi- ciency and safety. Also, the road underdrains would need to be improved or the base modified. An emergency swa1e along the lot on the south end of the lake should be added. The following citizens spoke on the lake problem: Mr. Frank Niertit, 1010 Antelope Trail Mr. Richard Colgate, 1207 Deer Run Mr. Herb Munson, 1209 Deer Run Mr. Mueller, 1026 Antelope Trail Mr. J. Kowal, 1119 Ermine Mr. J. Wimbe1y, 1105 Ermine Ms. Harper, 1014 Antelope Trail The engineers suggested that the people try the lake at level 48, then a public hearing would be set to determine what the permenent lake level should be. Mr. Roy Dye of Winter Springs Development said that he would be willing to work with the residents around the lake and to modify the weir. Also he would hire someone to look at the weed and pollution of the lake. Councilman Daniels pointed out that the official designation of the body of water on the plat is drainage easement. Discussion on the pipe on back of Mr. Munson's house. Mr. Dye said that if his company installed the pipe and it is leaking or faulty then his company will take care of it. The City Council was in agreement that the lake level should be set at 48 feet, the minium should be set at 43.5 feet, the weir will be modified to increase the out flow and child safety. Also, that Mr. Dye will bring in a consultant to look at the pollution of the lake and make recommendations and he will pay for this inspection. The enviromenta1ist will get with the Council to discuss the Qrob1em. The residents of the lake named Mr. Herb Munson as their representative.
