HomeMy WebLinkAbout1978 05 09 City Council Workshop Minutes 77 -78, WORKSHOP SESSION CITY COUNCIL CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS MAY 9, 1978 The Workshop Session was called to order by Mayor Troy Piland. The pledge of allegiance to the flag was led by Councilman Craven. Roll Call: Mayor Troy Piland, present Deputy Mayor John Daniels, present City Attorney Gary Massey, present Councilmen: Tom Craven, present Burt Logan, present Larry Pellerin, present John Sabatini, present Mr. M. Stewart Hartman of Leedy, Wheeler & Alleman, Inc. discussed with Council the acquisition of the utility companies - their assistance to the City and problems related thereto. Summer Recreation Program: Mayor Piland reported the Seminole YMCA would not be able to offer a program this year. Mr. Tuttle and Ms. Henry were present. They are both Physical Education teachers who live in the City and would be interested in running the program this summer. Mr. Tuttle is to draw up a proposal as to costs involved, equipment needed, etc. and present this to Council next week. CETA Project: There was discussion of the drainage right-of-ways cleanup project. are to be given copies of the proposed project, and this will be on next week. Councilmen the agenda for Utility Tax Rebate Ordinance: In discussion of the proposed ordinance, in Section 2, the date January 3l, 1977 needs to be changed to August 1971. This ordinance is to be reviewed by the incoming attorney. In discussion of the proposed ordinance for parking vehicles, Councilman Pellerin is to draw up a rough draft to be presented to Council next week. The Xerox Copier 4000 is to be on the agenda for action next week. The City Planner/Administrator was again discussed. Councilman Logan spoke for a part- time administrator, Councilman Pellerin and Councilman Daniels were not in favor of an administrator at this time. Mayor's office: Mayor Piland reported there is a vacancy in a Title VI job. This will be on the agenda next week.
