SPECIAL SESSION
CITY COUNCIL
CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS
NOVEMBER 1, 1976
The Special Session of the City Council of the City of Winter Springs, Florida was
called to order by Mayor Troy Piland.
Roll Call:
Mayor Troy Piland, present
Deputy Mayor Donald Browning, present
Councilmen:
Don Sines, present
Ernest Hendrix, present
John Daniels, present
Claude Ash, present
The primary reason for calling the meeting was because the City Planner has gone to
work for the City of Sanford as Assistant City Manager. CETA office informed us
they will allow the hiring of a CETA Employee for 90 days. Mr. Bush was present
and offered his assistance to the new Planner.
Motion was made by Councilman Sines to direct Councilman Daniels, Commissioner in
charge of Personnel, to go ahead and pursue hiring a temporary CETA employee to fill
this position and work out the arrangements of the transitional period of time we
can get from the City of Sanford for Mr. Bush's services and work with the city of
Sanford City Manager on the possibility of having Mr. Bush here part of the day to
work with the new planner. Seconded by Councilman Ash. Discussion. Vote on the motion:
Councilman Sines, aye; Councilman Hendrix , aye; Councilman Daniels, aye; Councilman
Ash, aye; Councilman Browning, aye; motion carried.
Motion was made by Councilman Daniels to direct the Mayor to sign the new agreement
at the rate of $331.00 per month for five days work (Interlocal Road Maintenance
Agreement with the County). Seconded by Councilman Ash. Discussion. Vote on the
motion: Councilman Sines, aye; Councilman Hendrix,aye; Councilman Daniels, aye;
Councilman Ash, aye; Councilman Browning, aye; motion carried.
Meeting was adjourned.
