A pledge of allegiance to the flag was led by Councilman Booth. Roll Call: Mayor Granville Brown, present Vice~ayor Troy Piland, present Attorney Thomas Freeman, present Councilmen: Victor Miller, present Vicki Baker, present John Booth, present Cliff Jordan, present Motion was made by Councilman Booth to approve the minutes of May 29, 1973. Seconded by Councilman Baker. Discussion. Vote on the motion: Councilman Miller, aye; Councilman Baker, aye; Councilman Booth, aye; Councilman Jordan, aye; Councilman Piland, aye; motion carried. Mr. Richard Ostrander gave a presentation of the work of his company, Frizzell Architects. No Health & Recreation Report. Zoning & Industrial Report, Councilman Piland reporting: __ Motion was made by Councilman Piland that the City Engineer attend Planning and Zoning Board meetings at the request of the Planning and Zoning Board. Seoonded by Councilman Miller. Discussion. Vote on the motion: Councilman Miller, aye; Councilman Baker, no; Councilman Booth, aye; Councilman Jordan, aye; Councilman Piland, aye; motion carried. Mr. Piland gave the monthly report of the Building and Zoning Official. Motion was made by Councilman Piland that we allow Mr. Bradshaw a flat rate of $5.00 per day automobile expense. Seconded by Councilman Baker. Discussion. Vote on the motion: Councilman Miller, aye; Councilman Baker, aye; Councilman Booth, aye; Councilman Jordan, aye; Councilman Piland, aye; motion carried. Road & Bridge Report, Councilman Jordan reporting: Councilman Jordan gave the monthly Road & Bridge Finance Report. Mr. Hansen, Maintenance Man, will be paid overtUne ouer forty hours of work. Police & Fire Report, Councilman Miller reporting: Councilman Miller gave the monthly Police Report. Motion was made by Councilman Miller to instruct the attorney to prepare the documents for a public hearing to adjust the Police Department budget. Seconded by Councilman Booth. Discussion. Vote on the motion: Councilman Miller, aye; Councilman Baker, aye; Councilman Booth, aye; Councilman Jordan, aye; Councilman Piland, aye; motion carried. -- Couneilman Miller gave the monthly Fire Department Report and read the letter from Mr. Bunker of the Winter Springs Stables commending Capt. Robinson. . .-..- 2-73 - 32 Reg. Session, June 4, 1973 Page 2 - Mayor's Report, Mayor Brown reporting: Mayor Brown and Attorney Freeman attended the Winter Springs Home Owner's Assn. Meeting last Friday Night. The Federal Revenue Sharing Report was discussed. Motion was made by Councilman Miller that the revenue sharing monies be expended on public safety items for capital outlay. Seconded by Councilman Jordan. Discussion. Vote on the motion: Councilman Miller, aye; Councilman Baker, aye; Councilman Booth, aye; Councilman Jordan, aye; Councilman Piland, aye; motion carried. Mr. Robert Webb, architect, gave a short presentation of his work. Mrs. Smith, Assistant Clerk, will be going on vacation the week of June 18th. Motion was made by Councilman Miller that we pay Mrs. Smith for twenty hours at her regular wage. Seconded by Councilman Piland. Discussion. Vote on the motion: Councilman Miller, aye; Councilman Baker, aye; Councilman Booth, aye; Councilman Jordan, aye; Councilman Piland, aye; motion carried. Mr. Freeman read the first reading of Ordinance No. 87,regarding connection fees, in its entirety. -- Motion was made by Councilman Piland that we accept the first reading of Ordinance No. 87. Seconded by Councilman Jordan. Discussion. Vote on the motion: Councilman Miller, no; Councilman Baker, aye; Councilman Booth, aye; Councilman Jordan, aye; Councilman Piland, aye; motion carried. Motion was made by Councilman Baker, to change the Council Meeting nights to Wednesday nights instead of Monday nights, starting June 6, 1973. Seconded by Councilman Miller. Discussion. Vote on the motion: Councilman Miller, aye; Councilman Baker, aye; Councilman Booth, aye; Councilman Jordan, aye; Councilman Piland, aye; motion carried.
