HomeMy WebLinkAbout1973 01 29 City Council Workshop Minutes 72-73 - 15 WORKSHOP SESSION CITY COUNCIL CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS JANUARY 29, 1973 The Workshop Session of the City Council of the City of Winter Springs, Florida was called to order by Mayor Brown at 7:40 p. m. A pledge of allegiance to the flag was led by John Booth. Roll Call: Mayor Granville Brown, present Attorney Thomas Freeman, present Vice-Mayor Troy Piland, absent Councilmen: Victor Miller, present Vicki Baker, present John Booth, present ~liff Jordan, present Pastor Bentzinger made a short explanation of why he has requested to put up a tent on the church property. Mayor Brown appointed a committee of John Booth and Troy Piladd to come up with a recommendation regarding the Chamber of Commerce letter on Trees and the School Board letter. Southern Bell's letter requesting to put in additional telephone lines is to be referred to the City Engineer. Mayor Brown will attend the meeting with the County Commissioners regarding Dog Control. Victor Miller will attend the Department of Transportation meeting February 1, at 2 p. m. Mayor Brown is to send a letter to Dr. Weldon stating that the Seminole County Advisory Council is doing well and the city would approve its continuance. Mayor Brown also read the letter for Seminole Cablevision advising the residents that cab1evision will soon be available and Seminole Calbevision has a franchise with the City. Copies of Mooney's bill are to be given to the Councilmen for further study. Motion was made by Councilman Booth to adjourn. Seconded by Councilman Miller. Motion carried.
