HomeMy WebLinkAbout1973 01 15 City Council Workshop Minutes 7 73 - 13 WORKSHOP SESSION CITY COUNCIL CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS JANUARY 15, 1973 The Workshop Session of the City Council of the City of Winter Springs, Florida was called to order by Mayor Brown at 7:50 p.. m.. A pledge of allegiance to the flag was led by Councilman Miller. Roll Call: Mayor Granville Brown, present Vice~ayor Troy Piland, present Attorney Thomas Freeman, present Counc i!men: Victor Miller, present Vicki Baker, present John Booth, present Cliff Jordan, present Representing the Zoning Board were Etta Harville, Secretary, and James Palmer. The meeting of the County Commissioners regarding the Dog Control Ordinance has been changed to January 30th. Mayor Brown suggested to the Council they give thought to passing an ordinance to save the trees per the letter from the Sanford Chamber of Commerce. Mayor Brown also suggested that Resolution #6 from the Seminole County School Board be given some thought.. __ The Department of Transportation is having an Environmental Action Plan Hearing on January 25, at 2 p. m. and are requesting participation by the Coucil. Mr. Miller is to come up with more facts and figures on the actual cost of maintenance of the two police cars. The proposal of Development Enterprises will come up for action at the next regular meeting. Zoning Board Recommendations: The Zoning Board recommended Council approve the street lighting layout for the Highlands. The Council was in agreement but Mr. Miller requested more technical information from Mr. John Hall. Winter Springs Planned Unit Development Unit 5 changes. The Board recommended this be set up for Public Hearing. Council was not in agreement with the changes, and Mr. Piland is going to contact Mr. Hanson to notify him of this. Mr. R. Bentzinger, Pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist Church has requested permission to erect a tent on the property while their Church is being built. Council would like to know how long this would be in use, and Mayor Brown is to contact Mr. Bentzinger for more information. The plans for water and sewer facilities for Sections 8, 9 and 10 have been brought in for review by the Zoning and Planning Board. - _-~.,-'1Vl'i'!! e - e .. . This Item is regarding the re-zoning of property requested by William A. Carroll. Due to the fact that my employer has an interest in this property, I submit that this constitutes a Conflict of Interest on my part, and so respectfully decline to vote or to take part in the duscussion of this matter.
