HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972 08 14 City Council Workshop MinutesWORKSHOP SESSION CITY COUNCIL CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS AUGUST 14, 1972 The Workshop Session of the City Council of the City of Winter Springs was called to order by Mayor Brown at 7:35 p.u.. A pledge of allegiance to the flag was led by Mayor Brown. Roll Call: Councilmen: Mayor Granville Brown, present James Sasser, present Attorney Thomas Freeman, present Herbert Fox, present Vice -Mayor Charles Rowell, present Victor Miller, present Troy Piland, present All Councilmen were in agreement to put an ad in the Florida League Annual Convention Issue for $50.00. Council agreed that City Employees would be entitled to two -weeks vacation after they had worked for the city for one year. Up to one year, employees would be entitled to one week. The qualifying fee was changed to $10.00 per candidate, and the qualifying period would be October 15th to November 1st. Mr. Freeman is to draw up an election ordinance. After discussion of the Police Board, it was decided to table this until further notice. There was a short discussion of the accident with the police car. The police car will now run in front of the fogger. Mr. Piland suggested that we purchase a radio from F. Scott Kenneth for $200.00 for use on the fire truck, if the Mayor would negotiate with Longwood to get authorization to use their frequency. It would be necessary to purchase two crystals. Mr. Cronk asked the Council for their consideration on a change of color for the fire trucks to lime yellow. Mp-tioii was made- to adjourn. Respectfully submitted, Mary T.
