A motion was made by Councilman Rowell to accept the bid of Cass - Knoblock for the Village Insurance in the amount of $3,497.50• Seconded by Councilman Fox. Discussion. Motion carried. Item No, 1: Mr. & Mrs. John Ostia request for a pre-school day care center is to be turned over -to the Board of Adjustment for a Public Hearing. A motion was made by Councilman Kelley to amend Ordinance No. 44 so that the minimum lot width will be measured at the building line. Seconded by Councilman Hurt. Discussion. Motion carried. Item No. 2: Meadowlark Subdivision Unit #1. A motion was made by Councilman Kelley that we approve the plats of Meadowlark Unit No. 1 as submitted, on a straw vote, subject to satisfactory drainage. Seconded by Councilman Rowell. Discussion. Motion carried. Item No. 3: Dr. David L. Maekeyts request for annexation: A motion was made by Councilman Kelley to authorize the attorney to draft an ordinance for annexation of Dr. Mackeyls property. Seconded by Councilman Fox. Discussion. Motion carried. The Board submitted the suggestion that each contractor be required to deposit $100.09 to insure trash will be cleaned up. As allowing trash to be left around is in violation of the litter law, it was found unnecessary to require the $100.00. The Building Inspector and the Chief of Police are responsible for enforcing this law. This item is to be taken back to the Zoning Board to find ways of financing. Community Association: I[ motion was made Vy Councilman Hurt to approve the new location of the Community building and approve permission for holding a ground breaking on February 26th and 27th. Seconded by Council- man Piland. Discussion. Motion carried. A motion was made by Councilman Fox that we give the Mayor permission to hire two police cadets. Seconded by Councilman Hurt. Discussion. Motion carried. Police Car Bids: Five bids were received, as follows: Jim Lash, $3,139.00 Jack Prosser, $3,162.00 Mid -Florida Dodge, $,279.21 Johnny Bolton Ford 3 297.77 Minter Park Dodge $3,98.00 A motion was made by Councilman Rowell that we buy one police car from Mid -Florida Dodge in Sanford at the price submitted, $3,279.21. Seconded by Councilman Fox. Discussion. Motion carried. A motion was made by Councilman Kelley that we pay Mr. Palmer $25.00 for his expenses at the Short Course for Building Officials. Seconded by Councilman Fox. Discussion. Motion carried. Councilman Rowell read a letter recommending Mrs. K. Jeffers be to help at the bus stop. from Police Chief W. J. Bachelor made a special police officer A motion was made by Councilman Rowell that we hire Mrs. Kathleen Jeffers, 90 N. Edgemon Ave. as a special police officer for the Village of North Orlando as per the request of Chief Bachelor. Seconded by Councilman Piland. Discussion. Motion carried.
