HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972 01 10 Village Council Workshop MinutesWORKSHOP SESSION VILLAGE COUNCIL VIL.IAGE_ OF NORTH ORLAND0 -_.JANUARY 10, 1972 The Workshop Session of the Village Council of the Village of North Orlando, Florida was called to order by Mayor Brown at 7:30 p.m. A pledge of allegiance to the flag was led by Councilman Hurt. Roll Call: Councilmen: Mayor Granville Brown, present Charles Kelley, present Vice -Mayor Charles Rowell, present Herbert Fox, present Attorney Thomas Freeman, present W. R. Hurt, present Troy Piland, present The Village Irsurarce Specifications were discussed and many charges were made. The rew specifications will be typed up and presented at the Council Meeting on January 17th. Leasing a car for the Police Department was discussed. A quotation from Joe Creamons for a 2 -year lease with maintenance at $162.80 per month, included 24,000 miles a year and $.03 a mile over was discussed. The end result was for Chief Bachelor to draw up specifications for a new police car and present them to the Council at the meeting on January 17th, and ther upon approval, the specifications will be put out for bids. Election is to be held on March 21, 1972. To be elected are Mayor for a two year term, Councilman Group 2 for a two year term and Councilman Group 4 for a two year term. Candidates must file the last ter days in February starting February 18th. Qualifying period ends February 29th at 4 p.m. All candidates must fill out qualifying forms. All persons must register with the County. Registration books will close or February 18th. Clerk for election will be Mary Norton and Inspectors will be Helen Greer., Louise Owens and Norma Lang. Mr. Ritch made a complaint of the Police Department. No action was taken. A letter is to be sent to the Department of 'Transportation about moving the city limit signs on SR 434 - The meeting was then adjourned. Respectfully submitted, Mary T.
