HomeMy WebLinkAbout1971 10 18 Village Council Regular MinutesREGULAR SESSION VILLAGE COUNCIL VILLAGE OF NORTH ORLANDO OCTOBER 189 1971 The Regular Session of the Village Council of the Village of North Orlando, Florida was called to order by Mayor Brown at 7:30 p.m. A pledge of allegiance to the flag was led by Mr. Hurt. Roll Call: douncilmen: Mayor Granville Brown, present Troy Piland, present Attorney Thomas Freeman, present W. R. Hurt, present Vice -Mayor Charles Rowell, present Herbert Fox, present Charles Kelley, present A motion was made by Councilman Fox to approve the minutes of October 4, 1971. Seconded by Councilman Rowell. Discussion. Motion carries. A motion was made by Councilman Fox to approve the minutes of October 11, 1971. Seconded. by Councilman Hurt. Discussion. Motion carries. A motion was made by Councilman Hurt to pay the bills. Seconded by Councilman Rowell. Discussion. Motion carries. Mayor Brown read a letter of resignation from the Maintenance Man, Russell Armstrong. A motion was made by Councilman Rowell to accept the resignation of Russell Armstrong. Seconded by Councilman Piland. Discussion. Motion carries. Councilman Kelley read the recommendation from the Planning & Zoning Board as follows: "The Planning and Zoning Board held a Special Meeting October 16, 1971 with three members present. The Board recommends the Council's acceptance of Winter Springs 3,500 plus acres Zoning Classification - "PUD't as submitted. Respectively submitted, James Palmer, Chairman." A motion was made by Councilman Kelley to accept the recommendation of the Planning & Zoning Board of October 18, 1971 as submitted. Seconded by Councilman Fox. Discussion. Motion carries. A motion was made by Councilman Fox to clean, clear and deepen the pond in accordance with the criteria set forth in the letter (see attached) subject to the approval of the city engineer, with the provision that Fisher Road would be maintained. Seconded by Councilman Kelley. Discussion. Motion carries. A motion was made by Councilman Rowell that we authorize the Chief of police to go to the meeting (see attached letter) with expenses not to exceed *30.00, Seconded by Councilman Hurt. Discussion. Motion carries. Page' 2 October 18, 1971 cont.: A motion was made by Councilman Kelley that we expend up to $10000.00 for building materials to be utilized in the construction of the building on the recreational area. Seconded by Councilman Hurt. Discussion. Motion carries. There was a discussion with Mr. Malcolm Clayton who would like to have 75 acres annexed into the Village. Mr. Clayton is to submit a petition of annexation stating exactly what he intends to do. Mr. Palmer was diredted to locate the ordinance regarding septic tanks for Mr. Clayton. A motion was grade by Councilman Fox that wu give Mr, hurt permission to hire a maintenance man at $2.00 XM per hour and 40 hours a week. Seconded by Councilman ?iland, Discussion. Motion carries.
