HomeMy WebLinkAbout1971 04 05 Village Council Reorganizational Minutes'h Y REORGANIZATIONAL MEETING VILLAGE COUNCIL VILLAGE OF NORTH ORLANDO APRIL 5, 1971 The Reorganizational Meeting of the Village Council of the Village of North Orlando, Florida was called to order by Mayor Tilson at 7:45 p.m. A Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was led by Councilman Charles Kelley. Roll Call: Councilmen: Mayor: David Tilson, present Charles RoweIll, present Vice -Mayor, Pasquale DelVillaggio, absent Charles Kelley, present Attorney, Thomas Freeman, present W. R. Hurt, present A letter of resignation was received from Mr. DelVillaggio, effective April 5, 1971. Mayor Tilson said to place this on the agenda for action following the reports. See minutes of April 19, 1971. Approval of Minutes: A motion was made by Councilman Rowell to approve the minutes of March 1, 1971. Seconded by W. R. Hurt. Discussion. Motion carries. A motion was made by Councilman Rowell to approve the minutes of the Special Meeting of March 12, 1971 with the following correction, "paragraph 5, rescinded to withdrawn". Seconded by Councilman Kelley. Discussion. Motion carries. Minutes stand approved as corrected. A motion was made by Councilman Rowell to accept the minutes of the Public Hearings of March 29, 1971. Seconded by Councilman Hurt. Discussion. Motion carries. A letter was received from Chief of Police Bachelor appointing Jeffrey Dan jou, 181 N.Bombay Ave. as auxiliary policeman. " Page 2 April , 19?1, cont. ayor s Repor , mayor Tilson reporting: Mayor-Tilson said that he had enjoyed working again as Mayor of North #Orlando; he did the beat he could; and he hoped that some time in the future he could serve the Village again. Action on Public Hearings: Florida band Companyta request to rezone a certain tract from R-II to R-1: A motion was made by-W. R. Hurt to approve the zoning request from Florida band Company to rezone the property from R-U to R-1. Seconded by Charles Kelley. Discussion. Motion carries. The Second Public Hearing was a request from Florida Land Co. to rezone a certain tract of land from R-U to R-T. A motion was made by Charles Kelley to.approve the zoning request from R-U to R-T. Seconded by Charles Rowell. Discussion. Motion carries. The third public hearing was to change a certain tract of land from R-T to C-2. A motion was made by Councilman Kelley that we table this item until the next scheduled meeting of May 3, 1971, at which time Western band Co. may give this Council a full set of restrictive covenants, preliminary plans and a layout of what they plan to do on this land. Seconded by Councilman Hurt. Discussion. Motion carries. Mr. Granville Brown was swornn in as Mayor by Attorney for the Village Thomas Freeman. Councilmen Charles Kelley, Charles Rowell, Troy Piland and Herbert Fox were sworn in as Councilmen by the Attorney, Thomas Freeman. The Reorganizational Meeting was then adjourned.
