HomeMy WebLinkAbout1971 03 29 Village Council Public Hearing Minutes` PUBLIC HEARINGS VILLAGE COUNCIL VILLAGE- OF NORTH ORLANDO MARCH 29, 1971 _ne Public Hearings were called to order at 7:43 by Mayor David Tilson. A Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was led byiCouncilman Kelley. Roll Call: Councilmen: Mayor, David Tilson, present Charles Rowell, present Vice -Mayor, Pasquale DelVillaggio, absent Charles Kelley, Present lAttorney, Thomas Freeman, present W. R. Hurt, present The first Public Hearing conducted was Florida Land Company's request for a change of zoning from R-U to R-1, ._on a tract of land lying in Block "D" of Do R. Mitchelits Survey, of the Moses E. Levy Grant. Mr. Reed -spoke for the change of zoning. Mr. Ken Steeves of Schweitzer & Assoc. who is the Florida Land Company's Planner for the Village of North Orlando, discussed Florida Land Company's overall Iflan for development. Mr. VanEopoel raised the question of Restrictive Covenants on the lots to be rezoned. Mr. Cliff Jordan, realtor, sent in a letter in favor of this zoning change. As there was no further discussion, Mayor Tilson closed the Public Hearing on this request and asked that this be put on the agenda for the next regular council meeting, April 5, 1971, for action to be taken. 10-11, The second Public Hearing conducted was Florida Land Company's request for a change of zoning from R-U to R-T, on a tract of land lying in Block *D" of D. R. Mitchellxs Survey of the Moses E. ;'1evy Grant. Mr. Reed spoke for the change of zoning. Mr. Cliff Jordan,, realtor, sent in a letter in favor of this zoning change. No one spoke against the rezoning. As there was no further discussion, Mayor Tilson closed the Public Hearing on this request and asked that this be put on the agenda for the next regular council meeting, ,April 5, 1971, for action to be taken. The third Public Hearing was a request to change the zoning from R-T to C-2, beginning at a point 450.18" E. of the intersection of the south line of the L/O Rd.' Mr. Freeman said the present owners had contacted him, and are in the process of starting construction in the immediate future. Mr. Bob Bratzell, attorney for Western Land Co. spoke for Western Land Company, and that they are proceeding with plans for developing in this area. Mr. Ringbloom, president of Western Land Co. spoke for his Company and said that as soon as FHA gave the go ahead they would start construction with a Rental Trailer Park. Al Land, Engineer for Western Land Company also spoke for Western Land Co. Mr. Jordan also sent in a letter for this hearing. He spoke against this change of zoning. r Page 2 . Public Hearings, March 29, coat. Mr. Freeman stated that the holdup was not the fault of the speculator gut the fault of the financial institution. The Public Hearing was closed, with action to be taken at the neat regular council meeting, April 5, 1971. The Public Hearings were adjourned. Mr. C. A. Meyer, Jr. was present for J. Hilbert Sapp with plans of Unit 3 of the North Orlando Townsites.4th Addition.
