HomeMy WebLinkAbout1971 03 12 Village Council Special Minutes" SPECIAL MEETING VILLAGE COUNCIL VILLAGE OF NORTH ORLANDO MARCH 12, 1971 The Special Meeting of the Village Council of the Village of North ',Orlando, Florida was called to order by Mayor Tilson at 7:48 p.m. A Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was led by Councilman Rowell. Roll Call: Councilmen: Mayor David Tilson, present Charles Rowell, present Vice -Mayor Pasquale DelVillaggio, present W. R. Hurt, present Attorney, Thomas Freeman, present Charles Kelley, present The second reading of Ordinance 56, Planned Unit Development, was ready by Attorney, Thomas Freeman, by title only. A motion was made by Mr. Rowell to accept Ordinance 56 on the second reading by title only. Seconded by Mr. Hurt. Discussion. Motion carries. The third reading of Ordinance 56 was read by Attorney Thomas Freeman, by title only. A motion was made by Councilman Hurt to pass Ordinance 56 on the third reading by title only. Seconded by Councilman Rowell. Discussion. Motion carries. Ordinance 56 has been passed. A motion was made by Councilman Rowell to set up a public hearing for zoning this particular section of land (as described in the legal description which is filed in the folder P.U.D.) under the zoning ordinance No. 56 which has jutt been passed. Seconded by Councilman Kelley. Discussion. In discussion of the motion, Mr. Freeman asked If they (Florida Land Co.) had forwarded all the necessary documents as required in the P.U.D. Ordinance. As all documents have not been forwarded, the motion was withdrawn, -until Florida Land Company complies with the P.U.D. Ordinance. The motion was withdrawn by Councilman Rowell and the second withdrawn by Councilman Kelley. A motion was made by Councilman Rowell to approve the request for a beer, wine & ale license, in accordance with Ordinance 47, for Jackfs Mini Mart. Seconded by Councilman DelVillaggio. No discussion. Motion carries. A motion was made by Councilman Rowell that we pay the fees in connection with procedures involved in making application by Mrs. Mary Norton in becoming a Notary Public. Seconded by Councilman Kelley. Discussion. Motion carries. A letter was read by Mr. Rowell from Chief of Police Bachelor to appoint Walter J. Bachelor Jr. an auxiliary patrolman, effective this date. A motion was made by Councilman Rowell that we appoint Mr. Edgar Smart, Sr. as part time paid patrolman at the rate of $2.00 per hour and the hours will be at the discretion of the Chief of Police. Seconded by Councilman DelVillaggio. Discussion. Motion carries. Page 2 Mareh__12s 971 Cont. r. gar -Smarts Sr. was sworn in by Attorney Thomas Freeman. Visitors Comments: e er was rece ved from the Fire Department asking for emergency funds to purchase hoses. Mr. & Mrs. Rupp were present to discuss their many problems with the parking of their truck, and also to discuss problems at the school bus stop. It was suggested that interested parents serve as bus guards. A motion was made by Councilman Kelley to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by Councilman DelVillaggio. Discussion. Motion carries. Hurt, present A notion was made by Councilman Rowell to purchase 200 feet of fire hose for the Fire Department up to and not to exceed $300-00 an per letter attached. Seconded by Councilman Kelley.
