VILLAGE COUNCIL VILLAGE OF NORTH ORLANDO DEC�MBER 21, 1970 The Continued Meeting of the Village Council of the Village of North Orlando, Florida was called to order by Mayor Jordan at 7:35 p.m. A P1:�dge of All-giance to th Flag was led by Mr. Freeman. Roll Call: Councilmen: Mayor, Clifford Jordan, present Charles Kelley, present Vice -Mayor, Pasquale DelVillaggio, absent Charles Rowell, present Attorney, Thomas Freeman, present Winton Hurt, present Richard Allen, present Garbage Contract: m.o ion was made by Councilman Rowell that this item be tabled until our next Council Meeting. Discussion. The vote was two - two. The chair voted yes. This item needs more consideration. Mr. Mitchell and Mr. Hodge were given time to discuss the probl-Im. of Mr. Mitehelits trash can, which is a heavy duty type, but it is 20 gallons. Mr. Hodge offered to give Mr. Mitchell a. standard 20(3gallon can, and. Mr. Mitchell accepted this offer. Zoning Requests: On the Zoning Request from. Florida Land. Co., Exhibit 1, and. Tasker's request for a Variance, th-> Public Hearing will be h ,ld at our next Council Meeting, January 4, 1971. On the P.U.D. Ordinance, copi--s are to be given to all Councilmen to review, and that will be discussed at our next Council Meeting. No action was taken to fill the vacancy left by the Mayort s resignation. This will be taken up at our next Council Meeting. Mr. Freeman read Ordinance #i%, by title only, for the second readin g. A motion was made by Councilman Rowell to approve Ordinance x;'54 by title only on the second reading. Seconded. by Councilman Allen. In discussion, Mr. Maheu of Florida Public Utilities Company stated that Fla. Public Utilities will furnish the equipment to service the residents' homes. Also, Mr. Maheu is aware of the fact that Suburban Propane will continue to serve customers in the Villa.gc . Motion carries. Mr. Freeman read. Ordinance X54, by title only, for the third reading. Bage 2 December 21, 1970, cont. A motion was made by Councilman Rowell that we accept Ordinance by title only, on the third and. final reading. Seconded. by Councilman Hurt. Discussion. Motion carries. The Ordinance is accepted on the final reading, December 21, 1970. Equiment for Fire Department: A motion was made by Counci man Rowell that thc- Village Council purchase 6 coats, 6 hats and 6 pairs of boots for the Fire Depart- ment, as per their request. Seconded by Councilman T_'elley. Discussion.. The motion was amended to read: The Village Council get as many bids as possible and then purchase from the most favorable bid the 6 coats, hats and boots. Seconded by Councilman Allen. Discussion. Vote on am^ndm.ent. Am^ndm.ent carries. Vote on th^ motion. The motion carries. A motion was made by Councilman Hurt to request Mr. :.Freeman to draw up a sign ordinance for the Village. Maintenance Man: motion was made by Councilman Allen that w,, hire a maintenance man on a temporary basis for two or three days a week at two dollars per hour. Seconded by Councilman Rowell.
