HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970 06 11 Village Council Regular MinutesCONTINUED MEETING VILLAGE COUNCIL VILLAGE OF NORTH ORLANDO JUNE 11, 1970 r The meeting was called to order by Mayor Jordan at 7:35 P.M. On Roll Call the following were present: Mayor, Clifford Jordan Councilmen: Vice -Mayor Pasquale DelVillaggio Charles Rowell Attorney Thomas Freeman, Jr. Wayne Miller Richard Allen Charles Kelley Toll free telephone service to Orlando was discussed and it was suggested that we send a letter to ask for this service. A motion that we send a letter to the Southern Bell Tel. Co. of Sanford, requesting toll free telephone service to Orlando for the residents of the Village of North Orlando, by Richard Allen. Seconded by Pasquale DelVillaggio. Discussion. Motion carried. Mr. Kelley discussed the addition tobrdinance #44 titled Article XVI -Rental Trailers. A motion was made by Mr. DelVillaggio that we set Article 16 up for Public Hearing July 6, 1970 at 7:30 P.M. Seconded by Wayne Miller. Discussion. Motion carried. `^ Due to the new registration system which will be starting in January 1971, which will eliminate registration in North Orlando, Camilla Bruce called the,Village Clerk and advised her of the new books she will be needing which will amount to $116.00. A motion was made by Mr. DelVillaggio to approve the expenditures and order the books as requested by the Supervisor of Elections in the amount of $116.00. Seconded by Mr. Rowell. Discussion. Motion carried. A motion was made by Mr. Kelley that the Council set up a Public Hearing on the zoning request by Gerstung Construction Company changing the zoning District T-1 to zoning District R -T. Seconded by Mr. DelVillaggio. There was a roll call vote on the motion. Mr. Rowell voted no; Mr. DelVillaggio voted yes; Mr. Kelley voted yes; Mr. Miller voted yes; Mr. Allen voted no. Motion carries. Annexation was again discussed. This is to be discussed again at our next meeting. The Natural Gas Franchise was tabled until we get more information. Mr. Harich was charged with operating a business in his home at 31 S. Cortez Ave. and came to discuss the matter with the Council. He stated he was not running a business but that he did bring eowork home and did some research in his home. After much discussion CONTINUED MEETING JUNE 11, 1970 it was the feeling of the Council that he was not -'- 0nducting a rte`' business in his home. If any questions arise, Mr. Kelley may check this out. There was much discussion on the dog ordinance and the amount of dogs allowed per household. Majority of the Councilmen felt that the zoning ordinance pertaining to the amount of dogs per house- hold should be enforced and this is to be discussed again at our next meeting. A motion was made by Mr. Allen that we follow the Dog Ordinance #16 and charge two dollars per dog tag. Seconded by Mr. Kelley. Discussion. Motion carried. A motion was made by Mr. Kelley that we set the limit of $40.00 to buy more chairs for the Village Hall. Seconded by Mr. Rowell. Discussion. Motion carried.
