OCTOBER 10, 1966 The Special Meeting of the Village Council of the Village of North Orlando, Fla. was called to order by Mayor George Fuller at 7:30 P.M. The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was led by IJ.oyd Brown. On RollCall the following were present: Mayor, George Fuller ViceMayor IJ.oyd Brow Attorney Orville Johnson Councilmen:; Jay Wetz Charles Rowell Granville Brow Charles McIntosh The reading of the minutes and the reports were dispensed with for this meeting. A letter was read from Mr. Chet Macek of C and M Refuse giving his version of the complaint received from VII's. Bailey. Mr. Macek, also, gave the list of those who had not paid since Jul~~. Mr. ""lard was present at the Council Meeting and he said he had the q;,analled check that he was paid up until December. Mr. Ward said that he would get in touch with Mr. Macek today and get the bill straightened out. --. A copy of the report of the investigation of September 29th, involving a juvenile is enclosed. Police and Citizens are to be comm.ented for their part in this investigation. Mr. S.B. Noe, the man who had applied for the position of Chief of Police and was to have a Special Meeting "Yrith theCouncU, called at 7:45, from Gainsville and said that he was with-drawing his application. A letter was read from Mr. Timothy Newman applying for the position, but the Council decided that he was without other income and could not live on $200.00 per month. Mr. McIntosh was asked to have a set figure that can be paid to a police officer andpl'ebe'rtt it at the next Council meeting. Mr. McIntosh said that the next time he talked to his home office in Columbus, Ohio he would have them insert an ad in the local paper and maybe we would have some results from a Northern paper. .- Motion was made by Mr. Wetz and seconded by Mr. G. Brown to pay $13.95 to the North Orlando Fire Department for a Fire ..tinguisher for the office. Also to pay $25.00 to Mr. Kramer for the quarterly audit on the books. Unanimously approved by Council. Motion was made by Mr. L.. Brown to have Mr. Bergere of Longwood to mimeograph 250 form letters to be sent to the res1dent.sfor the changing of the name of North Orlando. Seconded by Mr. Wetz and unanimously approved by Council. The Clerk is to get the Serial number for the Sprayer so that the lease of sprayer may be completed. The sprayer is now on Mr. Memory's trailer and Mr. Memory said the Village could use the trailer until he needed it. Motion was made by Mr. McIntosh authorizing Mr. Rowell to ,-.., .-..., ... INVESTIGATION REPORT r- THE INVESTIGATION OF THIS INCIDENT OF SEPTEl1BER 29th, INVOLVING A JUVENILE SHOWED THE FOLLOWING. THE JUVENlIE WAS SEARCHED BEr.AUSE OF A STATEMENT FROM THE HOME OWNER THAT THERE WAS A LOADED HAND GUN IN THE HOUSE. THERE WERE WITNESSES TO THIS SEARCHING AND NOTHING WRONG WAS DONE. I COULD FIND NO ONE WO DID OR SAW ANYONE ~.vrTH HIS FOOT IN THE JUVENlIE'S BACK. THE JUVENILE WAS KEPT IN' THE POLICE CAR WAITING FOR THE SHERIFF'S CAR. PAGE 2 OCTOBER 10, 1966 r-. purchase the necessary chemicals for the sprayer and to buy a trailer hitch for the tractor in order to pull the sprayer. Seconded by Mr. Wetz and unanimously approved by Council. Friday October 14th, Dr. Raymond Bass will be in the Village to give shots from 4 to 6. Rabies shots will be $3.00. Dog tags will be sold at the same time. The left front tire on the tractor is shot. The valve keeps popping out. Mr. Fuller and Mr. Rowell will check on tires, and report on Sall1e at the next Council meeting. Motion was made by Mr. Wetz and seconded by Mr. G. Brown to adjourn the meeting at 8:40 P.M.
