REQUEST: The Community Development Department requests that the City Commission
establish a date and time for a workshop to discuss the form-based code currently used in the
Town Center.
PURPOSE: Establish a date and time for a workshop to review and discuss the form-based
Town Center Code and its application to current development and to address the vision for the
Town Center.
BACKGROUND: Recent Commission discussions have directed staff to facilitate a
workshop for the purpose of examining/clarifying the pro-active form-based code currently
being used in the Town Center. The Workshop will also entail a discussion of the vision for the
Town Center and the conditions under which exceptions to the form-based code may be
acceptable.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
The Community Development Department recommends that the City Commission establish a date and
time and detail any additional specific requests of staff for a workshop to discuss the form-based
code and Town Center vision. Staff suggests that the date be no earlier that the end of April or
first part of May 2009.
