REQUEST: The Parks and Recreation Department is requesting that the City Commission
establish the Ribbon Cutting/Official Opening of the new Trotwood Park
Splash Playground.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this item is to schedule the Ribbon Cutting/Official Opening
of the Trotwood Park Splash Playground.
CONSIDERATIONS:
• Trotwood Park renovations included a new splash playground and pump house,
restroom/storage building improvements and an additional pavilion.
• The improvements will be completed and ready for public usage by mid April.
• Parks and Recreation proposes that the Grand Opening be an opportunity for the public to
come see and try out the Splash Playground. Memberships will also be available to
purchase at the park on opening day.
• The membership fees are as follows:

Fees are expected to pay for the operational costs of the facility
• Parks and Recreation will promote the Ribbon Cutting/Official Opening through a direct
mailing (of all users last year, City website, Tuskawilla Today, and news media).

• The contractor, BDG will be present and provide all the snacks and soft drinks.
• Parks and Recreation recommends the Ribbon Cutting/Official Opening be held at any of
the following dates/times:
o Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 10:00 am
o Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 1:00 pm
o Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 10:00 am*
o Saturday, Apri125, 2009 at 1:00 pm*
Or any date that works for the City Commission.
*Saturday, Apri125 from 9 am - 12 pm is the Winter Springs Arbor Day at City Hall.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
The Parks and Recreation Department recommends that the City Commission establish
the date and time of the Ribbon Cutting/Official Opening of the Trotwood Park Splash
Playground.
