HomeMy WebLinkAbout2009 02 23 Awards and Presentations 301 Proclamation Multiple Sclerosis Awareness WeekPRocLAMAT1oN o~'~ic~ o~ ~ ~Yo~ YltINT>E~ Si'itINCS, ~'LO~ID~ YYHEI~AS, founded in 1958, the Mid Florida Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society serves more than 70,000 people in a 23-county area, including family members, friends, caregivers, and employers; and ~HF.,RF,AS, every hour of every day someone is diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis; and I~HrRI?AS, more than 10,000 Central Floridians and their families and friends are forced to cope with this unpredictable, debilitating, and incurable disease; and ~HEREAS, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society funds more research than any other voluntary health organization in the world; and FYI IEREAS, the mission of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Mid Florida Chapter is to end the devastating effects of Multiple Sclerosis; and ~!l~xrRrAS, Central Floridians living with Multiple Sclerosis rely on many communitywide events and programs enhanced by the participation of thousands of Orange County and Central Florida residents.
