REQUEST:
The Parks and Recreation Department requests the City Commission review
the City of Winter Springs' 40tb Anniversary & 4tb of July Celebration
Schedule of Events scheduled to be held Sunday, July 4, 1999. See
Attachment #1.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this agenda item is to update the Commission on the event should
they be asked about the event, and to extend an invitation to the Commission and
the public to attend the celebration.
CONSIDERA TION:
· On Wednesday, March 24, 1999 the Parks and Recreation Department
Staff held a City of Winter Springs' 40th Anniversary & 4th of July
Celebration Planning community meeting at the Senior Center.
Local Civic Organizations, Churches, Youth Sports Clubs and our Police,
Fire and Recreation Dept. will setup up booths to provide information to
the public.
· The Parks and Recreation Staff has requested that the utility bills post
information relative to the event.
· We will have plenty of Giveaways (T-shirts, Frisbees, Sports balls, Cup
holders)
FUNDING:
· No additional funding will be necessary to conduct this Event. All funding
from Parks & Recreation Department Promotional Line-code 7200-54800
previously approved in FY 1998-1999 Budget Request.
RECOMMENDATION: N/A
