CITY COMMISSION
JUNE 19, 1998
The Special Meeting of June 19, 1998, was called to order by Mayor Paul P. Partyka at 11 :00
a.m. in the Commission Chambers.
ROLL CALL:

Deputy Mayor Cindy Gennell, present

Attorney Robert Guthrie, present

II. EXECUTIVE SESSION: DISCUSSION WITH LEGAL COUNSEL TO DISCUSS
MATTERS RELATED TO THE LAWSUIT: PARTYKA VS. CITY OF WINTER
SPRINGS.
Attorney Robert Guthrie announced the Executive Session, and that at the conclusion of this
announcement, those attending the Executive Session would convene in the Conference Room.
Attorney Guthrie mentioned who would attend this session. When he mentioned that Mayor Partyka
would not be attending, Mayor Partyka announced that he had changed his mind and that he would
be attending, as he also represents the City of Winter Springs.
Attorney Guthrie reminded everyone that what is said at an Executive Sessions is considered
privileged information, should not be shared with anyone, and should not be used for one's personal
benefit.
Discussion followed and each of the Commissioners asked the Mayor to reconsider his attendance at
the Executive Session. The Mayor asked that he be allowed to call his Attorney regarding this
matter.
At 11 :20 a.m. a five-minute break was called.
The meeting was called back to order at 11 :29 a.m.
Mayor Partyka announced that he would not attend the Executive Session. There was additional
discussion.
At 11 :34 a.m., the Executive Session convened.
At 12:45 p.m., the meeting was called back to order by Deputy Mayor Cindy Gennell, who
announced that the executive Session had been closed. Deputy Mayor Gennell added that Mayor
Partyka was currently not in attendance.

Deputy Mayor Gennell adjourned the Special Meeting at 12:47 p.m.
