Authorization <
REQUEST: The Parks and Recreation Department and the Police Department is
notifying the City Commission of the date and time for dedication of Torcaso
Park as 2:00pm on Sunday, January 25,1998 at Torcaso Park on Moss Road
and the Police Department open house at 3:00pm at the new Police facility
also on Moss Road.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this item is to invite the City Commission and public to attend the
Dedication of the park and the police station open house.
ISSUE ANALYSIS:
· Commission directed that this new park be named to honor John V.
Torcaso for his years of service to the City of Winter Springs.
. The new park will be partially developed!, i.e., some play equipment
and basketball courts. Plans for eventual development as proposed
will be available for review.
. The new police department facility will be hosting an open house at
3:00pm the same date. Their facilities are a city block north of
Torcaso Park on Moss Road.
. The police facility is now fully functioning and the public and
Commission will be welcome to attend.
FUNDING:
No new funding required for these programs.

RECOMMENDATION:

attend the dedication of Torcaso Park on January 25, 1998 at 2:00pm and the
Police Department open house beginning at 3 :OOpm.
