REQUEST: City Manager advising the Commission of the results of the Oak Forest Wall Mail
Ballot and requesting direction relative to the status of the project.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this item is to transmit the City Clerk's tabulation of votes of the
Oak Forest Wall Mail Ballot and to have the Commission to decide ifit desires to
proceed with the project based upon the vote.
CONSIDERATIONS: The tabulation of the votes for the Oak Forest Wall was completed
Friday, July 25, 1997, as previously directed by the Commission.
The results of the vote as certified by the City Clerk on attachment" A"was as
follows:
In favor: 390
Opposed: 112
Based upon the ballot, the Commission needs to accept the request of the Clerk
and decide if it desires to go forward with the project.
FUNDING: None required for this item.
RECOMMENDATION:
1) It is recommended that the Commission formally accept the results of the Oak
Forest Wall Mail Ballot.
2) It is recommended that the Commission direct the City Manager to perform the
necessary steps to see that the assessment district is properly established and that
the wall is properly constructed.
IMPLEMENTATION:
1) City Manager will complete a detailed task schedule with the consultants
within 30 days and return it to the Commission within 30 days.
2) The wall will be constructed in the fall of 1999
