REQUEST: Finance Department request the Commission approve the Revised Budget
Calendar for Fiscal Year 1997-1998.
PURPOSE: To request Commission approval of the Revised Budget Calendar for Fiscal
Year 1997-1998.
CONSIDERATIONS:
A. To establish dates necessary to complete the budget process.
IMPLEMENTATION SCHEDULE:
Upon the approval of the City Commission.

Proposed Budget Calendar for Fiscal Year 1997-1998
COMMISSION ACTION:
1997-1998 BUDGET CALENDAR
July 1st: City receives certification of taxable values from Property
Appraisers Office.
July 7th: City Manager presents Fiscal Year 1997-1998 Proposed
Budget to the City Commission.
July 28st: Commission Meeting - Commission sets:
1. Proposed Millage Rate
2. Rolled Back Rate
3. Date, Time and Place of the Public Hearing for the
Tentative Budget ( September 10, 1997).
July 29nd: Advise Property Appraiser and Tax Collector of proposed
Millage rate, rolled back rate and date, time and place of
public hearing.
August 25th: First Reading of Budget Ordinance.
September 10th: Tentative Budget Hearing - Tentative Budget and proposed
Millage rate; amend and adopt Tentative Budget.
September 18th: Advertise intent to adopt a final budget and Millage rate on
September 22, 1997.
September 22nd: Hold Public Hearing to amend adopted Tentative
Budget (Le. to finalize the budget); adopt Final Budget and
to adopt Millage Rate. Second Reading of Budget Ordinance.
