.REQUEST: The Parks and Recreation Department request the Commission to approve
the date of September 5, 1998 for the rescheduling of July 4tb HoHday at
Home program at Central Winds Park.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this item is to reschedule the program in time to initiate the
necessary public information campaign.
CONSIDERA nONS:
CD The date of September 5, 1998 is the Saturday of the Labor Day Holiday
Weekend. Tine Parks and Recreation Director, Fire Chief, PoHce Chief
and the City Manager recommend this date.
G The program wiln begin at 6:00pm as did the program scheduled for Judy
4, 1998 but mctivities wilD all be moved to one half hour earlier to
compensate for earlier sundown.
G All critical personnel, i.e. fireworks person, magician, singer, school
athletic personnel (BBQ) and appropriate staff are avaihllble.
o From the 4th to the 5tb, from one Holiday to the next can be well
understood by the public.
FUNDJING:
All items included in budget.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Commission set the date of September 5, 1998 for
rescheduling of the July 4th Holiday at Home program at Central Winds Park.
