REQUEST: Land Management Division requesting the City Commission to hear Architects Design Group presentation of the color scheme for the Public Safety Complex and provide direction it deems appropriate. PURPOSE: The purpose of this Board item is to present to the Commission proposed color schemes for the Public safety Complex as discussed at the Commission Workshop of July 29, 1996. FINDINGS: The City Commission, at the workshop of July 29, 1996, were presented varied color schemes for the Publici Safety Complex. It was the consensus of the Commission that the color schemes presented were not appropriate and that the design team return with color schemes incorporating earth tones. RECOMMENDATIONS: The Commission, at this meeting, can approve a color scheme for the Public Safety Complex and direct the design team to proceed with that approval. Alternatively, the Commission may find that the color scheme presented is not appropriate and direct the design team to return with other color schemes. L .< f' l " WORKSHOP CITY COl\.1l\1ISSION JULY 29, 1996 The Workshop of the City Commission was called to order by Mayor John F. Bush at 5:30 p.m. ROLL CALL: Mayor John F. Bush, present Deputy Mayor John Fening, absent City Manager Ronald McLemore, present CO:MNIISSIONERS: Larry Conniff, present John LangeUotti, present Cindy GenneU, present David McLeod, present Review Color Scheme for the Exterior of the Public Safety Building: Manager McLemore stated that decision need to be made regarding the exterior finishes of the Public Safety Building. This needed to be done as this could make the construction off schedule. Keith Reeves and Ian Reeves, Architects Design, gave their presentation. Mr. K Reeves showed the Commission different color schemes for the exterior of the building. It was the consensus 0 fthe Commission did not like the color schemes that they were shown for the building and asked Mr. Reeves to bring back a color scheme of earth tones. It was the consensus of the Commission that the color of the window and door frames would be of a bronze color. Discussion on when Mr. Reeves would bring back the other color schemes. It was determined that. would be discussed at the August 26, 1996 meeting. Commissioner Conniff asked about the upgrading of the telephone system and looking into that now so everything would be compatible. Manager McLemore mentioned that that would be an agenda item for the August 12, 1996 meeting. Commissioner Langellotti stated that a member of the 17/92 Task Force would like to come and give a presentation at the next meeting (August 12, 1996) and asked the City Manager if this could be placed on the agenda.
