RESOLUTION NO. ~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 20-2 NEPOTISM AND SECTION 13-4(d) SICK LEAVE OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS PERSONNEL POLICY; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICT, SEVERABILITY AND EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Section 14-1 Code of Ordinances of the City of Winter Springs state that the Personnel Policy of the City shall be approved and ratified by the City Commission, and Section 14-1 Code of Ordinances state that the City Manager shall from time to time amend and update the Personnel Policy and; WHEREAS, the City Commission has previously approved amending Section 20-2 Nepotism to allow for part-time and seasonal employment (12 weeks or less) of relatives within a Department when there is no direct line of supervision by a relative and; WHEREAS, Section 13-4( d) Sick Leave, be amended to allow for sick leave to be taken in fifteen (15) minute increments rather than four (4) hour increments in order to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, audit ability and full utilization of the existing Financial System of the City. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I: Section 20-2 Nepotism is hereby amended to allow part-time and seasonal employment (12 weeks or less) of relatives within a department when there is no direct line of supervision by a relative. SECTION II: Section 13-4(d) Sick Leave is amended to allow for charging and recording fifteen (15) minutes rather than four (4) hour increments of time for sick leave.
