RESOLUTION NO. 779 A RESOLUTION c OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, DESIGNATING THE WINTER SPRINGS PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING THE JOHN GOVORUHK PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING. WHEREAS, on August 22, 1994, the Winter Springs City Commission entered" into a contract with Architects Design Group of Winter Park, Florida, to design a new $1.5 million dollar facility for Police, Fire and other related Public Safety activities of City Government, and WHEREAS, on February 12, 1996, the Winter Springs City Commission entered into a $1.7 million dollar contract with Southland Construction Company of Long wood, Florida to construct the new facility, and WHEREAS, John Govoruhk served in the position of Winter Springs Police Chief from January 12, 1974 to February 7, 1993, and WHEREAS, John Govoruhk serving in the position of City Manager of Winter Springs from February 8, 1993 to October 31, 1995, initiated and supervised the planning, financing and design of the new Public Safety Building, and WHEREAS, John Govoruhk's 21 years, 9 months and 19 days of service in the City of Winter Springs leaves a legacy of exemplary service for the members of his profession and the citizens of Winter Springs. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IF RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA NAMES THE NEW WINTER SPRINGS PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING THE JOHN GOVORUHK PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING. IN HONOR OF, AND IN NEVER ENDING APPRECIATION OF JOHN GOVORUHK'S CONTRIBUTION TO THE CITIZENS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF WINTER SPRINGS, FLORIDA, DURING HIS 2] PLUS YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE CITY.
