Because of the intermingling of_ structures and natural cover fuels in unincorporated areas of _ Seminole County, the objectives of tl:e two above-named organizations are inseparable; i.e., to minimize the loss of life and property as a result of uncontrolled fire. Recognizing this, we, the undersigned, agree to the provisions of this "Jemorandum of i;nderstanding for the primary purposes listed below. 1. Provide for closest possible cooperation on mutual objectives. 2. Prevent r_iisunderstandings as to operational areas and responsibilities of our respective organizations. 3. 'rake possible effective support when either organization is committed to or beyond its capacity. AR„A_COJER.ED (I~arrative description of each area, and attach map) Fire Department: 1. Primary Area: State Road 419 North and East to Tuskawilla Road South on Tuskawilla Lake Drive West to 17-92. 2. Secondary Area: (Note: Piay include all unincorporated areas of the County wherein fire department is located and has jurisdiction.) Seminole County • Division of Forest.; 1. The County of Seminole except for incorporated. areas, and federal lands not under specific agreement. OPER.ATIOP7AL PROCEDURES The sire Department will dispatch manpower and equipment to a-~ kn.o~:m fire within the primary area (previously described), and ~•-i11, if local conditions permit, ans~•*er calls within the Secondary Area (previously described), upon request of. the Division of Forestry. The Division of Forestry 4-ill,when equipment is avai.lahle, dispatch a crew to any 1•:nocm forest/ brush/grass fire, or to a~ fire of unknown character.?;quioment may also be se it into incorpo- rated areas upon request Oi: t~l'? r.:ur.icipal fire department. Mien both agencies are represented at the same fire, the over-all supervisional responsibility shall lie with the agency concerned most directly with area and object on fire. Tiiis agreement shall be effective from the date of execution by the District Forester, division of Forestry. It will continue in force unless terminated by either party upon a sixty (60) day written notice to tl-.e other.
