SPIRITUAL ASSEMBLY OF THE BAHA'IS
OF SEMINOLE COUNTY, FLORIDA
WHEREAS, it is the fervent hope of mankind that we achieve
the goal of World Peace, and
WHEREAS, the harnessed power of the atom and other advances
have made the world a neighborhood, it becomes im-
perative that mankind learns to live together as a
world community, and
WHEREAS, a major obstacle to the attainment of World Peace
is the prejudices that separate men and cause dis-
unity, we must therefor work to eliminate these
barriers, and
WHEREAS, we in America have been given great spiritual
capacities and blessings, we must take the lead-
ership in the quest for and attainment of Peace
for all of mankind,
NOW, THEREFOR, I, , Mayor of the city of
do hereby prOClaim Sunday, September 16, 1979 as
WORLD PEACE DAY
in this city, in a prayerful hope, that Americans
everywhere will take'this time to rededicate them~
selves to work at all times to eliminate those bar-
riers to World Peace, particularly all forms of
prejUdice towards people of different races, nation-
alities, or creeds, and to foster a high standard of
justice for all.
