September 17, 2007 For Immediate Release Protecting the Rural Area: Three Perspectives OVIEDO - The board of the Black Hammock Association would like to invite all interested residents of the rural area to attend an informative evening with representatives from Winter Springs, Oviedo, and Seminole County who will update the association on the status of development plans for the rural area (Black Hammock, Chuluota and Geneva), joint planning agreements, and the rural boundary. Invited speakers include Oviedo Deputy Mayor Dominic Persampiere, Winter Springs Mayor John Bush and Commissioner Rick Brown and Seminole County Commissioner Bob Dallari. You won't want to miss this opportunity to meet and talk with local government representatives who have the power to shape the future of the rural area. Also that evening the current Board of Directors will be introduced: President-Don Peterson; Vice President/Membership-Shari King; Treasurer-Tom McCord; Secretary-Peggy Powell; Member at LargeINewsletter-Bill Turman; Member at Large-Bill Daniel; Member at Large-Robert King. Under the leadership of Don Peterson, the board has been working diligently to fill the shoes of Jim Logue, president of the association for almost a decade. Logue succumbed to cancer earlier this year and his presence in the Hammock is sorely missed. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at 7:00 PM at the Oviedo Woman's Club, 414 King Street.
