SYNOPSIS: The purpose of this agenda item is to provide the City Commission with data on potable and reclaimed water use for calendar year 2018. CONSIDERATIONS: Potable Water: In 2018, the City distributed 1,340,203,602 gallons of potable water, which is -0.8% decrease in distribution from 2017. The City received 63 inches of rainfall in 2018, which was 7 inches higher than 2017. The annual water use in 2018 was 16% below the St. Johns River Water Management District Consumptive Use Permit allowance of 1,595,050,000 gallons. Informational 201 PAGE 1 OF 4 - February 11, 2019 Reclaimed Water: Production of reclaimed water for the 2018 calendar year totaled 768,885,000 gallons, which is a decrease of 3% from 2017. Of this total, 431,719,000 gallons were distributed for the purpose of commercial and residential irrigation, which is a decrease of 30% from 2017. Also, 337,166,000 gallons were disposed of at the percolation ponds and/or sprayfields, which is an increase in disposal of 47% from 2017. These trends are due to the higher rainfall amounts in 2018, which resulted in less irrigation demand and higher disposal volumes.
